GenealogMap is easy to use genealogy software with flexible user interface, visual represent, publishing, and Web site creation features. The process of creating a genealogical map is a visual experience. You simply drawarea corresponding to information on Your relative. A wizard-like dialog guides you through the process of gathering the genealogical information on each person in a step-by-step manner.
The Genealogical map allows you to represent genealogical information as a context map that is displayed in pseudo-relief. The genealogical map is a multilevel hierarchy of elements on a single plane. Levels help structuring the information by importance: the key information is on the top, details are on the bottom. The higher level information is displayed with larger size letters and is easier to catch with eye.
The areas' sizes and object levels on the map allow you to emphasize the important information and shadow the details. Scaling the areas of the map helps managing the objects' visibility on different levels.
Each element of the map (the city, the date or any other information) can be bound to its own map. It is also possible to go from one map to another when viewing, similar to using links in Internet pages. The possibility to link any element with its own map allows you to view the same information from various perspectives.
The program allows working with the map in two modes:
- Editing - creation and changing of maps.
- Viewing - visualization of the genealogic information.
Objects may have photos and URL references to Internet pages. And, the genealogical maps can be printed.
