Connect and Shar works with any type of Internet connection be it standard Dialup, USB modem DSL, Cable and satellite connections. PPPshar is not required inorder to use "Connect and Shar". You can use any Internet sharing software or proxy server and still use "Connect and Shar".

Connect and Shar Features:

Control the modem from any machine. Allows you to connect or disconnect the modem from any machine on the network.
Enables you to monitor and control the Internet connection status from any or all of the remote computers.
Alerts all users in the network whenever the Internet connection in the gateway goes Online or Offline. This alert is in the form of familiar MSN-style pop-up animation with sound.
Security - Only authorised IP addresses are allowed to make a connection to Connect and Shar to get the Internet connection status. Option to set local password to allow only authorised users to connect and disconnect the connection remotely.
Can monitor the connection status even if the connection is made by any other software or dialer.
In addition to pop-up window notification, runs in the Windows system tray and indicates the status of connection - Offline, in- progress, Online - by way of color icons.
